Donate to the ResilienceCon & the World Association of Resilience Professionals (WARP)

This year, we are asking for donations to support the World Association for Resilience Professionals (WARP; formerly RPC). Vicki Banyard and I founded the WARP in 2023 to create a community of resilience scholars and advocates. So far, she and I have been covering almost all of the costs of the WARP, including room rental and catering for our in-person meetings, supplies, and staff time for maintaining the webpage, email list, and other administrative tasks. We’d love to have your help!

The WARP offers support, fellowship, and opportunities to scholars and advocates at all career stages. Reducing the global burden of trauma is an urgent mission—getting even more urgent as illiberal forces gain strength around the world. Yet, our current system of research, practice, and policy is falling short in many ways. Research is not systematically building on prior knowledge, and practice and policy and are incorporating insights from research. Sometimes it feels like academia has become more interested in its self-preservation than advancing knowledge. But the mission remains. We can organize to make a difference!

The RPC already has over 200 members from 25 countries. In addition to convening meetings to share work on resilience, we have also created our first special issue on resilience portfolios at Trauma, Violence, & Abuse and have a second in the works at Psychological Trauma. We are working on new measures and data collection, and creating tools based on our findings that can be used by practitioners. Please help us continue to fund WARP meetings, communications, and activities.
