Matthew Hagler graduated from the University of the South summa cum laudeand Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (honors) and English. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, he has found his second home on the Cumberland Plateau. He returned to Life Paths Research Center as a project manager after spending ten months teaching English at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi in Muğla, Turkey on a Fulbright grant. Matthew’s work at Life Paths has instilled in him a strong belief in the human capacity for resilience as well as an awareness that this potential is not always achieved without adequate resources. He is dedicated to discovering the internal strengths that can be cultivated and the external tools that can be provided in order to foster resilient outcomes. He is currently working toward his Ph.D in Clinical Psychology at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
