Gitika Talwar, Ph.D. is a Community-Clinical Psychologist & the Founder of Pranh Healing & Wellness PLLC. She is a scholar, practitioner, supervisor and trainer devoted to a Decolonial – Liberatory Praxis. She holds a Masters in Social Psychology from the University of Mumbai (India) and a PhD in Community-Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (United States). Her clinical experience draws upon her time working in mental health advocacy in India, an LGBTQ+ affirming counselor with a support group in India, community agency devoted to asylum seekers and refugees in Maryland, justice-involved men in Maryland, a diverse student community at University Counseling centers in Washington state, and a tribal health agency in the Puget Sound region.
Her current clinical and scholarly interests include decolonized, liberation-focussed mental health, healing collective trauma through collective practices, integrative mindfulness, mental health of people living between cultures, and activism as a form of mental health care.
